House Got Out Of Open Barn Door
If you are converting a standard door to a barn door i d recommend routering a groove in the bottom of the door rather than letting it swing free.
House got out of open barn door. Now don t get me wrong. Great if you want to catch your kids sneaking out of the house but otherwise not so much. And finally this is a tiny beef but some sliding doors are pretty loud when they open and shut. Barn doors are not just for barns anymore.
Depending on your hardware the sound of the door sliding on the track can resemble rumbling thunder. Take it down and replace it with a sliding barn door. It was always in the way when open. And if i were to move to a rustic farmhouse or beach house or lake house for that matter i d be all over a true to form barn door or even one made from reclaimed wood.
This keeps the door from swinging in and out as it rolls and possibly damaging the door or baseboards or wall. Get the ultimate private escape with a hidden door people won t even know it s there. Not only did it solve the problem but it added another element of visual interest to the room. A wood barn door can do the trick.
I love a good rustic barn door. Match the look of your room with a sliding door with the same look open or closed to go with your décor. Keep an open floor concept but maintain the right to privacy with a living room door that slides open. I particularly like the more streamlined hardware on this one.
